Lawrence Millman is at once a mycologist and an ethnographer.   In this presentation, he combines these two disciplines and discusses the uses of fungi by the northern indigenous people he’s encountered during his myriad northern journeys. You’ll learn how a certain fungus gets rid of evil spirits and how another fungus gets rid of mosquitoes. Since much of what Dr. Millman will talk about has now died out, his presentation can be regard as a lament for lost lore.
